The Oasis RV Resort

I decided to put a few pictures on of the Resort. They are mainly of the pool area.

Reno To Vegas

Then when we made it to Vegas there were a few other people there too.

We saw two army planes landing at Indian Springs.

After a brief rest at a rest area we were off again.

We passed Beaty and a plane skeleton just out side of Beaty

We stayed overnight at Tonopah and then started out again in the morning.

We left Reno January 14 headed for Vegas. The trip was pretty good and uneventfull.

Lake Tahoe

This is a picture of Carson City in the distance.

We didn't spend too much time in Carson city just drove through.

Lake Tahoe was a spectacular lake and although there were not a lot of spots where you could pull off the road and take a picture of the beauty we did manage to find a couple of spots. The lake is 22 mile long and 12 miles wide and 1/3 of it is in Nevada and the other 2/3 s is in California.

Virginia City

We went to Virginia city today and it was all I thought it would be. Filled with boardwalks, saloons and gift shops. We visited the museum and had our lunch at The Palace Resturand and Saloon. We visited a f ew other saloons as well and most of them were as much museum as they were saloons. The population of Virginia City is about 1,000 people, not much compared to its heyday in which it had a population of about 30,000. Most of the people of today work in the saloons-resturants and gift shops.

Willie Nelson Concert

Well the concert was fantastic and except for a couple in front of us that wouldn't sit down or shut up we enjoyed the performance. The old guy can sure still sing. The pictures that I am adding aren't very good because I didn't take my camerea.....bad mistake, and had to take the pictures with my phone.

Virginia Lake Park, Reno, Nevada

Molly found us a park to walk in and it is very nice. It goes all around the lake and even has some horses at the upper end. Now who said this wasn't the wild west.

On the Road

We started by getting off the trail at Wenatchee and before you know we were thinking it would be a good idea to take route 395. It was late at night and the roads weren't exactly the best....slightly slippery and so many switch back type turns it was hard to know if we were coming or going. Being short of fuel and energy we stayed overnight at John Day and listened as rain fell overnight. In the morning, fueled up and coffeed up we again hit the road. The rain overnight hadn't done much to improve the snowy roads and depending on the elevation it either rained or snowed for the next few hours.

It was snowing when we left Osoyoos and we saw all types of weather on the way down to Reno. We had a good adventure and are both tired tonight and ready for a good sleep and a few days rest.
