Red Rock Canyon

The Red Rock Canyon loop is a 13 mile one way road that is open only during daylight hours. It is a very beautiful canyon with the amazing red rocks.

Climbers - Climbers from all over the world come to Red Rock Canyon

High Point Overlook - We stopped here to take a few pictures and to walk Molly

The Keystone Thrust - The ancient grey rock rise above the younger red rock. This happened when the older grey rock was thrust over these rocks when the mountains of North America were formed 65 million years ago.

Willow Springs - The presence of water and cooler temperatures supports many plants and animals not able to survive in other parts of the Mojave Desert.

Ice Box Canyon - yes that is snow or ice between those two mountains

Pine Creek - Las Vegas during the Ice Age? Several plants, including sone pine trees may represent relic forests from the last Ice Age.

A Ride on The Duce

The last stop is Freemont Street and then back to the outlet mall where I left the Jeep. It was a great afternoon and a fantastic way to see the sights.

Now the famous Trump building and the Welcome to Downtown Las Vegas sign

On to Treasure Island, The Venetian and Circus Circus

We then moved on to Paris Las Vegas....lots of traffic (now I am remembering why I took the bus instead of drive myself) and a Double Duce!

From here we moved on to MGM and Caesar's Palace

We moved on then to the Excalibur and New York-New York

First was the Mandalay Bay, then the Luxor.

Ginny went for a ride on "The Duce" which is a double decker bus that runs from one end of "The Strip" to downtown "Freemont Street".
