Port Renfrew BC

We went to Port Renfrew today via Lake Cowichan. We were initially unsure of what the road would be like since it is a logging road but were pleasntly surprised. It was narrow in places but was paved the whole way. We arrived in Port Renfrew and then worked our way down the coast through Sooke, Victoria and then north again to Crofton. It was a great day and we got to see some lovely sights.

This big beautiful tree is the Harris Creek Spruce and yes it is huge.

We stopped along the way to see the Red Creek Fir, which is one of the largest Douglas Fir trees in Canada.

Just south of Port Renfrew at River Jordan we stopped for a stroll on the beach. The waves wern't very big but there was a surfer out there playing in the water. Molly and I had a good walk on the beach while David had a rest.
